Music Video and the birth of the Lanor Lounge.

  • 25 November 2013

If you’ve been paying any attention to Paul waffling on recently you’ll know that we love music here at Lanor and last week we got together with our friends Kinwah to shoot their music video for ‘Mary Ann’.

Kinwah are a two-piece contemporary acoustic band led by Suzy Wimbourne and Alex Carrington. Their journey began just over a year ago with a busking tour across all corners of the UK. Since then they’ve gone from strength to strength, being hired for many events including a wedding in Venice!

Kinwah do a whole host of cover songs from Beyonce to Elton John. Our favourites include Times Like These, Romeo, Please Please Please and Get Lucky. Check our their website for more!

As much as we love a good cover song, lets get back to the video shoot. Instead of doing a video of a cover song, Greg was persistent to do an original song and uncovered that Kinwah are incredibly talented at writing their own music. So with some dental floss, paper lanterns and tea lights we made a cozy (and minty!) set in the Lanor living room ready to shoot Mary Ann. The film was directed by Greg and shot by Sam on the Canon 5D mark iii. I took the role as Producer with Paul as Production Manager/Assistant – we managed not to set any lanterns on fire, which we like to call a success. :)

The evening was great fun and hopefully the start of a new venture: the ‘Lanor Lounge’ where we can make magic happen in our living room with music and film. Here’s to more exciting music videos to come!

If you’re around in Manchester and heading to the Christmas Markets, make sure to catch some Kinwah live action yourself – they’re playing in the St Anne’s Square Gluhwein hut Sundays-Wednesdays 5-8pm.
